All information correct as of 8th January at 15:30

In line with Government legislation Union will require a Covid pass to enter the club from when we open on Saturday 18th December 2021 at 1am until further notice

This will apply to all people attending the club, including Staff, DJs and Customers

Union will accept either

1-    EU Digital COVID certificate. This scheme includes the UK NHS Covid pass, as well as the passes from 62 other countries. Note that we require a QR code that we will scan and verify at entry, including checking that the name on the certificate matches any ID presented at entry

Or

2-    Evidence of a recent NHS Lateral flow or NHS PCR test taken no later than 48 hours prior to entry. Note that if you are using the Lateral flow test you MUST report your result to NHS Test and Trace. NHS PCR tests are reported automatically. You must then either obtain a Covid pass based upon this test, or have a text/email/letter from NHS test and trace confirming your negative test. We are NOT able to accept private tests, photos of lateral flow devices, actual lateral flow devices, texts or emails purporting to be from the NHS, or anything similar. Only a NHS test that has been reported to the NHS and a Covid pass or text/email/letter obtained will be suitable

Please ensure that you bring both Photographic ID and your Covid pass to the club for entry

If you have been fully vaccinated in one of the 62 countries that are part of the EU system then you should obtain the EU Covid pass. If you have not been vaccinated and are relying upon tests then we strongly recommend that you obtain the digital Covid certificate with QR code as this will make verifying this quick and easy. It is just as quick or quicker to obtain the digital Covid certificate as it is to obtain a text/email/letter

You can bring your pass in printed form or on your phone, but if it is on your phone you must make sure it is able to be scanned (so for example a cracked screen would not be suitable)

You can obtain more information about how to obtain your EU Covid pass from

or

https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/get-digital-covid-pass/

If you have taken a NHS PCR test that is negative then this should automatically be contained in any UK issued EU Covid pass downloaded from any time after your result is available

You can obtain more information about how to report your NHS Lateral flow test in order to have it added to your UK issued EU Covid pass below

https://www.gov.uk/report-covid19-result

There are some other limited exceptions. For example if you have only just entered the UK from a country outside of the EU Covid Certificate system, or have been certified by a medical professional that you cannot be vaccinated. If you feel you fit into one of these categories or your situation is not covered in the information above please email us at info@clubunion.co.uk well in advance of your visit and we will offer guidance on what you should do or need to bring with you. If it is legally and safely possible for you to enter the club we will try to enable this. If you fall into one of these exceptions we would advise you not to turn up at the club without communicating with us first

A few tips for gaining quick entry to the club

1)    The no 1 top tip is to bring a QR code based Covid pass with you that we can scan. This will get you entry to the club in a few seconds. All the other methods take a lot of time to process, depending how busy we are this can be perhaps up to an hour wait. Sort out the QR based Covid pass that we can scan before you leave home, not while queuing for the club. Even if you are using a lateral flow test, still register and report this test and obtain a QR code based Covid pass. It will be by far the quickest way to gain entry to the club

2)    Do not attempt to enter the club with a fake pass or text or email, we will spot it, and you will be denied entry. Simply answer any questions we have honestly and truthfully and we will do our best to enable you to enter the club

3)    Make sure your phone has plenty of battery and bring a USB based charging cable with you. There is a public phone charger with a USB port near the entry to the club. Without a working smart phone it is unlikely you will be able to get into the club. We end up turning a lot of people away because their phone has run out of battery.

4)    If you need it then install the NHS app well before you come to the club. Note it is the NHS App you need, not the NHS Test and Trace app. We will help you install it if you do not know how, but this does not always work, and you may not have all the information needed. Standing outside the club in the middle of the night is not the right time or place to try and remember your NHS number, or to verify your identity. In some cases the NHS app will take 24 hours to verify your identity if it needs to do this. The website for the correct NHS app, including links to download it from Apple or Google, is http://www.nhs.uk/nhs-app. If you are using the NHS app and are based in England or Wales you need to choose the Domestic pass, not the Travel one. Do all of this well before you leave home

5)    Do not come to the club in a big group. If all the members of the group have a QR code and one does not you are going to be very disappointed if you either do not get in or have to wait a very long time just because one of your group does not have a QR code based Covid pass

Examples of some of the QR codes you will need are given in this document
